Password Managers Tested A team of researchers from the University of York, decided to retest 5 password managers, namely Dashlane, LastPass, Keeper, 1Password and RoboForm. These password managers were chosen for retesting as they are amongst the most popular. Issues were discovered with these 5 password managers back in 2017. Sometime later, the researchers contacted the vendors to disclose the discovered vulnerabilities. However, only a few vendors rolled out a fix as the issues were seen to be of low priority....

Slack files Competition Complaint Against Microsoft The complaint in the EU concerns Microsoft Teams, a chat program that, like Slack, is widely used in the (home) workplace. US Retaliation The US announced economic sanctions and other measures against Russia in retaliation to the massive SolarWinds cyberattack and other “malign” actions. The SolarWinds breach has commonly been attributed to a Russian cybercriminal group with ties to the SVR, a Russian intelligence agency. In the cyberattack, Russian hackers accessed the networks of at least 9 US federal agencies, including the Treasury. And the departments of Justice and Homeland Security. Also breached were some of the largest businesses in the US, including some major technology companies....

The hackers seem to have obtained the credentials from “outside sources,” which could mean that Verizon’s internal systems were not targeted. The extent of the breach is unclear at this time.
